KUNST SCHAFFEN 2022 in the Robbe & Berking Museum in Flensburg
For the third time now, the large exhibition KUNST SCHAFFEN will take place in the museum of the Robbe & Berking Yard in Flensburg from May 26 to June 26, 2022. What began in May 2020 just a few days after the end of the first coronavirus lockdown and it’s restrictions for many but especially the art and culture scene, is, under the patronage of Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister of Culture Katrin Prien, on it’s way to becoming a tradition.
For the first time, the initiators had to limit the number of participants and turn down interested artists. At the invitation of Esther and Oliver Berking, 66 artists will not only present their work at the Robbe & Berking museum. Many of them will also be moving their studios to Flensburg for four weeks in order to get back into conversation with art enthusiasts. In 2020, 60 and the following year 80 painters, sculptors, graphic artists and selected artisans presented their work to more than 10,000 visitors coming from all over Germany and neighboring Denmark to Flensburg.
Oliver Berking: “If this growth had been maintained, the quality of the exhibition would inevitably have suffered in the coming years. In addition, each year we also want to present many artists who have never been seen in Flensburg before.” Thus, the three curators, Dr. Thomas Gädecke, Stephanie Dethleffsen and Esther Berking, are pleased to have 35 artists exhibiting in Flensburg for the first time, among them artists from the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Scotland and the Czech Republic.”
