Comment
RANNÖ, originally built as a pilot cutter in the region of the Aaland Islands (Finland) at the beginning of the 20th century, today enjoys leisurely cruises in Scandinavian waters as a fully equipped touring boat. Equipped with modern technology, RANNÖ is perfect for a holiday on the water for two or a family of three. The classic lines of a Nordic Spitzgatter /Double Ender, combined with high-quality equipment make the boat a stylish companion on longer journeys, popular in Scandinavian harbours. Her simple sail plan and powerful engine make her easy to handle, not least with the networked autopilot. The original oak planked hull has been professionally glass coated, making RANNÖ manageable in maintenance and giving her a high gloss dark blue hull finish. The bulwark and superstructure are made of mahogany. Many stainless steel details and the teak deck define the classic look, upholstery and stylishly crafted, plug-in benches provide seating on deck even while cruising. RANNÖ has been lovingly maintained by her current owner every year for more than 20 years and has undergone continuous technical modernisation. This year, after a comprehensive underwater hull overhaul, she went into the water to look forward to a great season!
Comments from the current owner
“RANNÖ won us over in her appearance the day we first saw her in port. She is one of a kind, an “eye-catcher” in lacquered natural wood and polished stainless steel. For my wife and me in our stressful professional lives, she was always the place to come down. On our travels in Scandinavia, it could be “annoying” at times to be repeatedly referred to the ship in admiration, but understandable when looking at her from a distance in the harbor. We had RANNÖ professionally maintained every year. Her equipment has been continuously completed and modernized, she is state-of-the-art. The handling is simple, “the way is the goal” – it will be difficult to part with RANNÖ one day. However, the few 2-3 weeks a year that we still have time to spend on board today let us make this decision!”
