General

CONSTRUCTION – Oregon planking. Spotted Gum laminate frames with fastenings of copper nails and roves. Plywood deck covered with teak laid. Cabin top and sides are teak. Interior is of teak trim, veneer plywood, laminex and ash trim. Deck beams are out of Oregon 2 1/4 “x 1 1/2 “at 13 1/2 “centres. Lead keel is through bolted with keel bolts. Cockpit is plywood painted and together with varnished exterior wood all in good condition. The lead keel weighs 5100 lbs (2300kg) providing great stability.

ACCOMMODATION – Dawn Wind has accommodation for four people, two quarter berths in the aft and two settee berths around the saloon table. The saloon table can be removed to provide a double bed with both wood and cushion modifications aboard.
