A boat like that obviously attracts a special type of top sailors, which, in turn, also helped built the legend. »When I was a kid and crewed for Tom Blackaller that first time, I was 18, we would come around the mark and Bill Buchan would be first and Buddy Melges and we were there. And then Dennis Conner was right behind us. And Tom would say, is Dennis tacking or not? And I’m like, yep, he just tacked. So at a very young age I was racing with the greats of sailing. And even before that there was, you know, Straulino and lot of great sailors. And then we had the whole Finn generation come through. Percy, Loof, many others and we had Torben. Torben Grael is kind of my generation. But Mark Reynolds is actually the winner. He’s got two world championships, two Olympic gold medals in the Star and a silver. He’s kind of the king. »A TREMENDOUS HONOUR TO COME TO FINLAND AND ADDRESS SUCH A PASSIONATE AUDIENCE AT THIS WONDERFUL SYMPOSIUM.« — Paul Cayard — Paul Cayard (r), Oliver Berking (l) 55 Fotos: Martina Orsini read more
