VERY YEAR, YACHTS AND INDIVIDUALS ARE HONOURED IN TEN CATEGORIES AT THE PRESTIGIOUS »CLASSIC BOAT AWARDS« IN LONDON. THE MAGAZINE »CLASSIC BOAT« ESTABLISHED THESE AWARDS AND WRITES: »Today’s classic sailing and motorboat scene owes its existence to the passion and dedication of many people – boat owners, regatta organisers, crew, naval architects, volunteer yacht club officers and of course the skilled boatbuilders who have built or restored the vessels on our list. The annual Classic Boat Awards celebrate them all.« In the category »Restoration of a sailing yacht over 40 feet«, the prize was won by the magnificent yacht Cambria, which had a new deck fitted by Robbe & Berking Classics. We’re not the only ones delighted by this. Her long-serving captain, Chris Barkham, could not take part of the awards ceremony in London’s Royal Thames Yacht Club and wrote this moving letter of thanks. It is an honour and a pleasure for us to publish it here. E 32
