And I am already prepared for strong winds and moguls in Iceland’s wild landscape when I get into the rented off-road vehicle at the airport. The drive on the freshly asphalted ring road, once around Iceland in 1,340 kilometres counter-clockwise, promises to be swift. But the detours into the rather impassable inland are quite different.
