Comments
Stortumlaren ”Sjörået” was awarded as the ”Best maintained wooden yacht for the year” at the Risör Wooden Yacht Festival in 2009 and received similar prizes in Sweden a couple of times. Designed by Knud H. Reimers and built by Christoph Rassy and Holger Johannsen/Karl Gustav Larsson during 1964-1966. She was launched in 1966 and is very well documented. Her present owner acquired her in 1976 and has kept her in immaculate condition since then. She is essentially in original condition and is truly unique in design, construction and size. Only the best materials were used as African mahogany (hull), Honduras mahogany (interior, deck and coaming), spruce (spars), Oregon pine and Regina plywood (deck) and teak. All fittings in bronze or a/p stainless steel. A careful upgrading of sails, power system, electronics, galley and sanitary etc. was made during the last ten years.
